Chappaquiddick Island
Chappaquiddick Island is a must-see see for explorers, nature lovers, and beachgoers. Located across the harbor from Harbor View Hotel, it is accessible by a 2-minute ferry from Edgartown Harbor. “Chappy”, as the locals call it, is a rural island with only one main road, paved for approximately four miles from the ferry landing to the southeastern end of the island. Mytoi Gardens, Cape Poge Wildlife Refuge, and East Beach are located off the main road at the end of a one-mile-long dirt road. Don’t forget a camera for a climb up the Light’s wooden staircase to unmatched views of the Muskeget Channel, Cape Cod, and Nantucket!

All tours begin and end at the historic Harbor View Hotel. With 130 years of history behind it, the historic Harbor View Hotel has been faithfully restored. Dubbed the Crown Jewel of Martha’s Vineyard, Harbor View Hotel was at the heart of the tourist trade that saved Edgartown after the dawn of the whaling industry. This grand hotel continues to attract a diverse guest list from the famous and far flung to families and couples looking for the perfect summertime escape. Experienced tour guides will take you to all the major towns and Vineyard landmarks while entertaining you with local knowledge and folklore.
Oyster Farm Tours (Seasonal)
Harbor View Hotel guests get an up-close look at the raising and harvesting of oysters from seed to market, while enjoying as-fresh-as-it-gets oysters. The tour is educational and lasts about one hour.
Private Yacht Charters (Seasonal)
Make your Vineyard vacation a memorable one with a chartered yacht excursion. Relax and enjoy the view of the Vineyard from the water. Pass by Chappaquiddick Island, Edgartown Harbor, Katama Bay, beautiful homes, beaches and lighthouses. Breakfast, lunch and sunset cocktail cruises are available. Guests also may enjoy sunbathing, swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking in the inner Edgartown Harbor.

Experience tranquility at the Harbor View Hotel with a complimentary yoga class on the front lawn. Breathe deeply in a serene setting, inhaling the refreshing ocean air while savoring calming views of the harbor and lighthouse. Our expert yoga instructors accommodate all skill levels and personalize each session to suit individual or group preferences. The class is offered Saturdays from July 6, 2024, through October 5, 2024.

Horse Drawn Carriage Rides for Weddings
Add a special touch to your wedding or private event. The magnificent Percheron draft horses and beautiful carriage will pick you up and take you to your venue. Trot along the harbor, passing historic homes, lantern lined streets and beautiful views in an elegant wedding carriage pulled by a team of magnificent Percheron draft horses. The horses are meticulously groomed, and the drivers dress for the occasion.
