Harbor View Hotel Named 2023 Mass Save® Climate Leader for Outstanding Commitment to Energy Efficiency Recognition highlights Harbor View Hotel’s continued efforts in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and leading the state to a clean energy future.
Edgartown, MA (October 11, 2023) — Harbor View Hotel is pleased to announce it has been selected as a 2023 Mass Save® Climate Leader. Harbor View Hotel is one of fourteen commercial and industrial organizations across the Commonwealth to receive this distinguished recognition. “Receiving this award fills us with immense pride. We have invested more than $5 million dollars in making our property more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. This investment has helped to reduce our carbon footprint and preserve the beauty of our island,” said Bernard Chiu, owner of Harbor View Hotel. Harbor View Hotel has leveraged the financial and technical support provided by the Sponsors of Mass Save to make meaningful investments in energy efficiency and curb greenhouse gas emissions. Three of the over ten energy conservation projects completed by Harbor View Hotel include:
• Installation of an energy management system, in combination with smart thermostats, that automatically lowers energy usage after guests have checked out
• Installation of low-usage showerheads and toilets, ECM pumps, and kitchen hood controls
• Use of trash compactors to limit the frequency of trash pickup trips
