Martha’s Vineyard Book Festival 2025

The Martha’s Vineyard Book Festival is returning this summer for its 20th anniversary, featuring the theme “The Power of Perspective.” Taking place from August 1-3, 2025, in Chilmark, MA, the festival will showcase a talented group of authors, including novelists, journalists, historians, and scientists. They will explore important topics such as American democracy, climate change, and cultural identity. The weekend promises insightful conversations to help us better understand our rapidly changing world.

Highlights of the festival include:

Friday, August 1 at 6pm: MVBF’s ticketed opening event features The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief, Jeff Goldberg, and three time Pulitzer Prize winner and staff writer, Ashley Parker. When truth is a precious commodity, The Atlantic has emerged at the cutting edge of political reporting. Hear about Signalgate, journalistic ethics and new directions in media.

Saturday, August 2, All day: Panel discussions on politics and the press; tech power and soft power; climate change, sea level rise and forest fires; culinary and cultural legacy; reproductive rights; race, family and identity; and activism and responsibility.

Sunday, August 3, All day: Author talks and compelling conversations.

Book signings throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday events are free and open to the public. Friday night is a ticketed event. Tickets will go on sale in late June. All events take place on the grounds of the Chilmark Community Center, 520 South Road, Chilmark, MA.
